An equipment class defines a grouping of equipment types. There are a number of predefines equipment classes as follows:
Equipment Class | Usage |
---|---|
DISK | Disk devices. |
NODE | OpenVMS Alpha and VAX nodes. |
PRINTER | Printers. |
TERMINAL | Terminals. |
TERMINAL_SERVER | Terminal servers. |
Note that when a printer type, terminal type or terminal server type is defined, the equipment class is forced to the appropriate value.
The applicable management tasks include add, modify, remove and report.
