A security domain is a collection of one or more clusters over which
common authorization information is maintained. For exmple a user is
registered once within the security domain, and then the users
environment is created on each cluster that the user is to be given
access to within the security domain. Each security domain is managed
by a security domain master node. Applicable management tasks at a
network level include add, modify, remove and report. Applicable
management tasks at a security domain level include set network master.

A startup phase a used by the OpenVMS startup procedure to collect startup actions that may be run in parallel together. The startup phases and order are:
Phase | Uses |
---|---|
INITIAL | Startup calls SATELLITE_PAGE.COM, SYPAGSWPFILES.COM and SYLOGICALS.COM. SysWorks procedures called from SYPAGSWPFILES.COM mount disks with page and swap files. SysWorks procedures called from SYLOGICALS.COM define system wide SysWorks logicals. |
CONFIG | |
SYSFILES | Startup calls SYCONFIG.COM. |
BASEENVIRON | |
LPBEGIN | Startup calls SYSTARTUP_V5.COM or SYSTARTUP_VMS.COM. SysWorks procedures called from SYSTARTUP_V5.COM or SYSTARTUP_VMS.COM start DECnet, some batch queues, printers, the remaining disk volume sets, etc. |
LPMAIN | |
LPBETA | |
END | SysWorks procedures called by startup start the remainng batch queues, applications and groups. |
Applicable management tasks at a network level include add, modify, remove and report.
