Class: | STTY Meta_Class |
The instantiation model of a meta class indicates how objects of the class are instantiated. The following table lists the models supported:
CONTEXT | Objects are instantiated only at the context level. No replication or occlusion is used. No associations are permitted with objects that aren't also instantiated at the same context level. |
NETWORK | Objects are instantiated at an appropriate network management level (eg. a security domain). Lower levels (eg. a cluster) receive copies of the object using on demand (i.e. the first time a program or user requests an object) trickle down (i.e. each level from the requesting level to the level immediately below the original instantiation level requests the object in turn) replication. Some properties are allowed to have local values. The object can only deleted when all of its copies have been deleted. |
OCCLUDE | Objects are initially instantiated using the SYSTEM model. Specific contexts may have local values for object properties. A context sees a path of parent contexts, and a property's value is taken from the first context in the path to have such a value. For example, an application environment context has a context occlusion path of application environment, application, environment, system. This means when a property value is requested, a search is made of the application environment, then if the value isn't there, a search is made of the application and so on until the system value of the property is used as the last choice. |
SYSTEM | An object is instantiated in an installation kit. This model is usually reserved for objects shipped as part of SysWorks software products. |
